FAQS

Booking and Fees

When is a good time to book or reserve an Artist?

The sooner the better. As long as the artist is still available. California weddings can happen nearly all year round since weather extremities are rare. Many professional and experienced artists tend to book up  at least 6 months in advance.

What if I can’t decide on which artist to work with?

I understand there’s many artists in your area to choose from. Just like all wedding vendors, there’s so many available. Find out what your style is. Based on your wedding dress or your wedding theme, you can decide on an artist that can cater to that style you’re looking for.

What areas do you service?

I cover all areas in the South Bay, North Bay, and East Bay. Travel fees may apply. When choosing on-site services, a travel fee applies to all these locations. The cost will vary depending on location. If  additional artists are needed for larger bridal parties, separate travel fees may apply for them. All parking or valet charges are covered by the client.

Do you travel for destination weddings?

Packages for destination weddings are available upon request. Airfare, accommodations, transportation and travel will apply.  Please provide as much as information as you can when inquiring.

What is your payment process like?

There is 50% deposit requirement for all services booked to reserve the date. The remaining balance is due the day of the event. If there is a cancellation of your wedding day for any reason, you can inform me by email. The deposit is non-refundable.

Time & Services

How long does it take per person for hair and makeup?

I usually allow 40 minutes per hair service or makeup service for guests/bridesmaids. Each person for both hair and makeup services can take around 1-hr 30mins depending on the styles or specific demands requested. I will help draft a timeline to better organize the times of services on the day of event.

How long do services for the Bride usually take?

The primary artist will allow 2  hours specifically for the Bride. If the bride has additional services requested for her bridal party, the primary artist will assign additional assistance with as many artists required to accommodate the party size.

How long does it take to accommodate a large bridal party?

I usually allow around 4 hours of serviced time for large parties. This will require more than one assisting artists from our team. It can take more than 4 hours if the size of the party exceeds over 12 services.

Will there be an additional cost for another artist(s) to accommodate the party size?

No, there is no additional cost for another artist. It will be my responsibility to form a team to accommodate the party size. It is best to reserve in advance for additional assistance as it depends on the availability of the artists.

Hair & Makeup Trial

Is a trial necessary?

A trial is highly recommended because I want to create the best look and outcome for your big day.  A trial provides an opportunity to meet, discuss and try out the styles you have in mind for your wedding day.  You can prepare your trial by gathering hair inspirations and pictures of yourself with makeup on for a special occasion. Visuals are very helpful for me to get an idea of what you like.

How long do a trial and consultation take?

It typically takes about 1.5 hr per (hair or makeup) service. Both hair and makeup can take around 3 to 3.5 hours. It’s best to plan a trial early in the morning or afternoon to see how your look stays through the day.

Would I need to bring anything to the trial?

If you have veils or hairpieces, you can bring it in to incorporate into the trial. Wearing something white like a blouse or dress can also help you better envision your overall look. You can bring any favorite makeup products that you would love to use or try with your trial. Although my experience, techniques and makeup kits are plentiful, I'm open to your personal suggestions that you feel most confident with. I want you to feel and look your best!

Do you provide faux lashes for the bride and bridal party?

Yes! I have plenty of lashes to choose from for everyone. If there is a specific lash style you would like to use, feel free to bring it.

Do I arrive to my trial with washed hair or day old hair?

There's a myth, people are told day old hair is easier to style. But I prefer clean and fully dried hair. This helps me see and understand the natural texture and cut of your hair. I can determine how to manipulate the hair best suited for the desired look.

Would I need hair extensions to add volume to my hair?

Depending on the style of the updo or low do desire, extensions can add more voluminosity to the hair if hair is too thin or too short. Extensions can be avoided sometimes by just simply getting a fresh haircut. Consult with your hairstylist on options to give lift and volume to your hair.

Do you provide hair extensions?

I can give recommendations on where to purchase your extensions based on your budget. If your hair is colored or highlighted, it will be best to make a purchase through your hair colorist as they can best customize your extension based on your current color.
